**UPDATE**

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the Scobey Schools Building Reserve Levy Election will be MAIL BALLOT ONLY.  Ballots will be mailed out on April 15, 2020.  To comply with stay at home orders, we are asking that you please return your ballot by mail instead of dropping them off at the school.  If you do decide to return your ballot in person, the school will be open from 10:00 - 2:00 only until election day (May 5, 2020), at which time the building will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m to return ballots.  Ballots may be returned to the main office or Room 122 during those hours. 

The Trustee Portion of the Election has been cancelled as the number of candidates who filed are the same as the number of open seats.  Building Reserve Levy election is still taking place.



December 12, 2019 - March 26, 2020 - Trustee Candidates Can File for Election

February 25, 2020 - Trustees Call for Election

April 2, 2020 - Last Day Candidate can Withdraw from Election

                    - Deadline for Write-in Candidate for Trustee to file

April 6, 2020 - Close of Regular Voter Registration

May 5, 2020 - ELECTION DAY

VOTER REQUIREMENTS

 ** Voters must follow the same regulations stated in MCA 13-1-111:
        ~ Registered as required by law
        ~ At least 18 years of age
        ~ A resident of the state and county for at least 30 days
        ~ A US citizen
        ~ Not a convicted felon currently serving a sentenced in a

           penal institution
        ~ No adjudicated to be of unsound mind unless restored to

           capacity as provided by law

 ** Regular registration closes April 6, 2020
 ** Late registration opens April 7, 2020
 ** Electors may late register after close of regular registration and until noon the day before the election. Late registration re-opens on election day.
 ** Late registrants obtain certification from the county and must present to clerk
 ** To ensure you receive a ballot to vote in the school election, contact the county election's office to confirm your voter information is accurate and up to date. 

ELECTION CALENDAR

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  ** Must be registered to vote in the District
  ** Must be: at least 18 years of age, a resident of the state

      and county for at least 30 days and a US citizen

  ** Must be a resident of the district
  ** Must not be: a convicted felon currently serving a sentence in a

      penal institution or determined to be of unsound mind by a

      court of law
  ** May not be an employee of the District
  ** May not be running for another public office
  ** Must file oath with the District Clerk by March 26, 2020


Scobey School's Election will be held May 5, 2020 if necessary.  Trustee Candidates may file beginning December 12, 2019 and ending no later than 4:00 p.m. March 26, 2020.  The Declaration of Oath of Candidacy can be picked up at the District Clerk's office or downloaded here.  

  Scobey Schools will have Two (2) seats open for election for a Three (3) year term and One (1) seat open for a Two (2) year term.
