NEW DATES & DEADLINES​

Due to legislative updates - deadlines have been modified for many of the election processes. 

**December 11, 2025 - Trustees Call for Election

**December 11 - February 9, 2026 - Trustee Candidates Can File for ElectionFebruary

​February 9, 2026 - Last Day Candidate can Withdraw from Election

March 2, 2026 - Deadline for Write-in Candidate for Trustee to file

April 6, 2026 - Close of Regular Voter Registration

April 15, 2026 - Absentee &/or mail ballots available

May 5, 2026 - ELECTION DAY

VOTER REQUIREMENTS

 ** Voters must follow the same regulations stated in MCA 13-1-111:
        ~ Registered as required by law
        ~ At least 18 years of age
        ~ A resident of the state and county for at least 30 days
        ~ A US citizen
        ~ Not a convicted felon currently serving a sentenced in a

           penal institution
        ~ No adjudicated to be of unsound mind unless restored to

           capacity as provided by law

 ** Regular registration closes April 7, 2025
 ** Late registration opens April 8, 2025
 ** Electors may late register after close of regular registration and until 7:59pm of election day AT THE COUNTY CLERK & RECORDER.
 ** Late registrants obtain certification from the county and must present to clerk
 ** To ensure you receive a ballot to vote in the school election, contact the county election's office to confirm your voter information is accurate and up to date. 

ELECTION CALENDAR

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  ** Must be registered to vote in the District
  ** Must be: at least 18 years of age, a resident of the state

      and county for at least 30 days and a US citizen

  ** Must be a resident of the district
  ** Must not be: a convicted felon currently serving a sentence in a

      penal institution or determined to be of unsound mind by a

      court of law
  ** May not be an employee of the District
  ** May not be running for another public office
  ** Must file oath with the District Clerk by March 27, 2025

Scobey School's Election will be held May 5, 2026 if necessary.  Trustee Candidates may file beginning December 11, 2025 and ending no later than 4:00 p.m. February 9, 2026.  The Declaration of Oath of Candidacy can be picked up at the District Clerk's office or downloaded here.  

  Scobey Schools will have Two (2) seats open for Three (3) year terms.
